About me

Hello. I'm Claire and I offer counselling in Greater Manchester and online or by phone nationwide. Using a therapeutic approach called integrative therapy, we can work together using a range of techniques tailored to suit your needs.

I have been a counsellor for over fourteen years with a wealth of experience to support you. I tailor counselling sessions to meet your needs and offer a confidential, non-judgemental space for you to be yourself.

I care deeply about making sure that people feel valued and supported, which stems from my belief that every voice deserves to be heard.

I have worked extensively as a counsellor for children and young people, as well as with adults.

I worked as a counsellor for a national children's charity for over a decade, supporting children and young people who were frequently in distress and in high risk situations.

I also worked at a national cancer charity for a number of years, supporting people with chronic and life-limiting illnesses, as counselling their loved ones. I have additional training in palliative and bereavement counselling.

You might know exactly what you want to talk about in counselling or it could be that you have a general sense of not feeling okay and need help unravelling it. There's no right or wrong way to begin.

It is a privilege to join somebody on their path and watch them grow. I offer face-to-face counselling, online counselling, telephone counselling and outdoors sessions.

My therapeutic work follows an integrative approach, which means that I use a range of methods adapted to best suit you.

I have a particular specialism in neurodiversity, skilfully supporting people (of all ages) with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia (DCD) and Tourette Syndrome for decades. I am a neuroaffirmative counsellor and celebrate that we are each unique. Many neurodivergent people have been made to feel that their differences are not okay and as a result feel shame. Counselling can help to reframe how you think about yourself. Having space to talk freely can help you to identify your strengths and qualities, as well as talking through coping strategies.

My practice is trauma-informed, meaning that I am trained and skilled at working with people who have been affected by trauma. My practice supports growth and healing from trauma, by empowering you to make your own choices and developing your own coping methods.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in adherence to their ethical framework.

As a fine art graduate, I use creativity within my counselling practice, helping you to use your imagination as a powerful tool for change and personal growth.

We can also draw on the world around us for inspiration. Nature's cyclical patterns show us that we cannot be in bloom all of the time. Yet even in cold, dark moments, growth is taking place. I offer outdoors sessions so that we can walk and talk at your pace, taking in our environment as we work together. We can also take inspiration from the natural world as we sit in the comfort of the counselling room, if this works better for you.

I am highly-experienced in working with people in crisis and am trained in the the ASIST model for suicide prevention. If you are currently in danger, please call 999 immediately to reach out for support with staying safe.

Your emotional well-being is worth talking about. When we meet for therapy, we will look for a path that works best for you.

In our counselling sessions, I will offer you compassion and authenticity. We can work on any challenges together, at your pace, without pressure.

If you have hopes and dreams of how you'd like life to be, we can look at these one by one, discussing any options that might help you move closer to achieving the things you wish for.

I would love to hear from you. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to get in touch on 07713 802 951. Call or send a text. Alternatively, you can email me

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
