About me
Hello and welcome.
I am a fully qualified psychotherapist and psychotherapeutic counsellor.
I work with individuals and couples who are seeking emotional well-being, clarity, and a greater connection with themselves and others.
Life can be challenging. We might find ourselves grappling with complex and challenging emotions that leave us feeling weighed down. We may doubt ourselves and our choices or carry a sense of 'not getting things right'. We may find ourselves stuck in patterns of thoughts, feelings, or behaviours that cause difficulty.
I will work with you to explore aspects of yourself or your life with a fresh perspective so that you can find a way forward. Therapy provides an excellent platform to do this, where you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships.
Whether you are seeking support for emotional well-being, personal growth, or deeper connections in your relationships, I'd love to hear from you.
Where
Currently, I offer sessions from two locations; Braintree and Colchester. Both locations offer peaceful and welcoming spaces. Additionally, I offer online sessions.
Experience
I have provided counselling and psychotherapy in a variety of settings, including charitable organisations and the NHS, and have experience of working with people (18+) from diverse backgrounds.
Some of the issues I have helped people with in the past include:
- relationships troubles
- anxiety
- depression and low mood
- low self-esteem
- life transitions (becoming a parent, changing jobs, retirement, relocation, children leaving home etc.)
- stress management
- grief and loss
- trauma and trust issues
- unresolved childhood experiences
In addition, I have special interests in neurodivergence, low self-esteem and attachment.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is underpinned by Transactional Analysis. Transactional Analysis is a versatile and efficient approach to therapy which incorporates important aspects of different types of modalities (humanistic, cognitive behavioural and psychoanalytic).
This means that I make use of a range of therapeutic concepts and methods that are tailored to unique individual needs. My style is collaborative, and focused on here-and-now while paying attention to past/present relational experiences.
I am passionate about psychological and emotional wellbeing. I believe that we all have the capacity for positive change and personal growth. I adopt an empathic and respectful approach while offering gentle challenges.
In couples therapy, we would focus on you and your partner's relationship, past and present ways of relating and your connection as a couple.
Length and format of therapy
I offer short, medium/long-term therapy depending on your needs and preference. When therapy is short-term, we might focus on an issue that is at the forefront of your mind. Or you may wish to work long-term to deepen your understanding of yourself and your relationships.
What happens in our first meeting?
At our first session, we can discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and how we might work together. Understanding your expectations, aims and hopes from the therapy process is important.
Next steps
If you're considering working with me, please feel free to reach out via text, email, or phone call. I understand that it may be daunting to begin therapy, so I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone call, where we can have a chat, and you can ask me any questions, you may have.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
