About us

CYC (Child and Youth Counselling), is a service run by Basi a qualified Registered and Accredited Member of the BACP.

CYC works with children, young people, parents, adults, and supervisees online. CYC undertakes hybrid work with organisations.

CYC works with anxiety, low mood and low self esteem, caused by family breakdown, work or academic stressors. CYC has almost two decades of experience supporting clients with these concerns.

  • CYC Young person service offers a safe space where young people can express and explore their needs.  If they are struggling with school, college, university or work, feeling under pressure, low self-esteem or generally feeling unhappy.
  • CYC Parent Service: experiencing difficulties with your children or young person, please contact CYC for a consultation (charged).  Consultations explore a range of issues such as low self-esteem, difficulties with friendships, issues with perfectionism and concerns about culture and identity. Parent /Child struggles may relate to difficulties navigating relationships following separation, divorce or integrating into a blended/step family. Communication may have broken down and family needs have become misunderstood. As a parent you may be experiencing a sense of loss because your child is leaving for university. CYC offers a specialised parent service that can also help if you are generally struggling and in need of support as parent.
  • CYC Adult service offers you safe and confidential therapeutic counselling. Issues may stem from your childhood, current relationships or be work related amongst other issues. Do not hesitate to reach out and we can discuss how CYC can help you.
  • CYC Clinical Supervision for Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Therapists, Trainees, Groups and those in the helping professions. Collaborative and supportive online clinical supervision.
  • CYC schools, Child/Youth Focused or Adult Mental Health organisations - Offers a tailored service for your mental health and counselling service needs. Please do not hesitate to contact CYC for further information of what we can bring to your organisation.

CYC is an integrative service we tailor to each individual client, supervisee or organisation and their unique set of needs. Please do not hesitate to contact CYC to discuss your specific requirements.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
