About me

I’m an integrative psychotherapist working with adults in Central and East London and online nationwide. I have an MSc in Therapeutic Counselling, and I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You might be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress or burnout, difficulties in a relationship, low self-esteem or a significant change in your life. You may have a particular problem you want to work on, or simply have a sense that something isn’t right and want some time to understand what is happening.

My approach is relational and intersubjective. In simple terms, I see therapy as something that happens between two people. I don’t sit back as a neutral observer. I’m present with you, paying attention to what you are experiencing and to what happens between us. The relationship we develop can help us understand how you relate to yourself and to other people.

My work draws on psychodynamic, existential and humanistic thinking. We might explore how earlier experiences continue to affect your life now, patterns that keep appearing in relationships, or questions about identity, meaning, work and what matters to you. I don’t follow a fixed formula. I adapt the work to the person sitting in front of me, while bringing my own thoughts and observations into our conversations when they may be useful.

Professional background

My clinical training led me into private psychotherapy practice, with my work informed by relational and intersubjective psychotherapy alongside psychodynamic, existential and humanistic approaches.

Before training as a psychotherapist, I studied art history and worked in the London art sector. I subsequently spent many years working with corporate tech firms. This gave me experience of different professional environments and continues to inform my interest in work, identity, relationships, culture and the pressures of contemporary life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Starting therapy

Before arranging a full session, I offer a free 15-minute video consultation. This gives us a chance to talk briefly about what has brought you to therapy, what you are looking for, and whether my way of working seems appropriate for you. It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions. There is no obligation to continue.

If we decide to work together, we begin with an initial series of sessions. These sessions give us time to establish our working relationship and begin to understand what has brought you to therapy. We can then review the work together and decide whether you would like to continue.

Sessions are 50 minutes and can be held face-to-face in Central London, East London, or online by secure video. I offer weekly and bi-weekly appointments, depending on the type of therapy and availability. I can also accommodate ad hoc sessions booked on demand.

Some people come to therapy with a particular issue they want to address. Others are looking for a longer period of exploration and want to understand patterns in their relationships, work, or wider life. The way we work can reflect what you need.

If you're unsure whether therapy with me would be appropriate, you are welcome to get in touch, and we can talk about what you're looking for.
