About me

I am a compassionate Counselling Psychologist practicing online. I am honoured to work with adults and adolescents facing a variety of life challenges including trauma, depression, anxiety, burnout and work-related stress, relationship difficulties, and bereavement.

I have a special interest in working with people who have experienced the loss of a loved one, where I focus on empowering them to grieve authentically and normalising the grief experience. I am in the process of completing my PhD in grief and dream of contributing to our understandings of grief and how we, as society, approach grieving hearts.

Much like my approach to life, my therapeutic style is down-to-earth, open and real. I value genuine connections and prioritise authenticity. With this, I strive to make the therapeutic environment warm, authentic and collaborative. I am a strong believer in the power of the therapeutic relationship and am dedicated to creating a safe space where clients can explore, heal, grow, and embrace their authentic selves.

If you're ready for positive change, please don't hesitate to contact me via email. I look forward to connecting, understanding your needs, and working together towards a healing and growth.

Training, qualifications & experience

My professional journey began after graduating from King's College London with a MSc in War and Psychiatry, which delved into the psychological complexities and impact of warfare on soldiers and civilians. This led to an opportunity to work at the Priory Hospital in Woking as a Senior Healthcare Assistant where I worked on the Acute Male Ward as part of the Psychiatric Nursing team.

After 3 years at the Priory, I obtained with a MA in Counselling Psychology from the University of Johannesburg. Here I was trained in various therapeutic modalities which has allowed me to develop an integrative approach in my practice. These tend to include psychodynamic therapy, person-centred therapy and interpersonal therapy. I also draw on other theories like CBT, ACT and DBT. With this approach, therapy is tailored to the individual and their unique context, circumstances and challenges. My aim is to offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space for clients to safely explore, understand and cope with various concerns.

While working in private practice, I am currently in the process of completing my PhD in Disenfranchised Grief at the University of Johannesburg.
