About me
I am a compassionate Counselling Psychologist practising online. I am honoured to work with adults facing a variety of life challenges including trauma, depression, anxiety, burnout and work-related stress, relationship difficulties, and bereavement.
I work from an integrative perspective, drawing on person-centred, attachment-based, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed approaches to ensure that therapy is tailored to the unique needs of each client and their presenting concerns. I offer EMDR therapy for trauma, an evidence-based approach designed to help process distressing memories and reduce their emotional intensity. EMDR is particularly effective for PTSD, complex trauma, and distressing life experiences, allowing clients to move forward without feeling controlled by past events.
Much like my approach to life, my therapeutic style is down-to-earth, open and real. I value genuine connections and prioritise authenticity. With this, I strive to make the therapeutic environment warm, authentic and collaborative. I am a strong believer in the power of the therapeutic relationship and am dedicated to creating a safe space where clients can explore, heal, grow, and embrace their authentic selves.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Counselling Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, which I completed in 2020. Since then, I have been dedicated to private practice, working with adults facing a wide range of mental health concerns. Alongside my clinical work, I have completed a PhD in Psychology, deepening my expertise in grief and bereavement.
My experience extends beyond individual therapy—I have worked as an associate in multiple private practices and served as a temporary lecturer at the University of Johannesburg, contributing to the academic development of future psychologists. I have also undergone specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), allowing me to offer targeted interventions for trauma, emotional regulation, and relational concerns.
In my practice, I work with both individuals and couples, helping clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship dynamics. My approach is integrative and client-centred, ensuring that therapy is tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals.
