About me

Whether this is the first time you are seeking therapy or have had therapy before, reaching out can feel overwhelming as therapy itself can be challenging. By its nature, the process entails self-reflection and honest conversation. I understand that, which is why it’s important to me to provide a comfortable space where you feel supported, open and safe.

My core orientation is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which is a family of talking therapies, all based on the idea that thoughts, feelings, what we do, and how our bodies feel, are all connected. If we change one of these we can alter all the others. CBT is a collaborative therapy – it’s not something that is done to someone, it’s a way of working together with a CBT therapist on mutually agreed goals. When we’re low or upset, we often fall into patterns of thinking and responding which can worsen how we feel. CBT works to help us notice and change problematic thinking styles or behaviour patterns so we can feel better.

However, I understand the importance of individuality so I work in a integrative way and use approaches, interventions and tools from a range of counselling modalities to suit your unique needs.

I offer couples counselling using a Transactional Analysis (TA) Approach, this type of psychotherapy focuses on improving communication, resolving conflicts, and enhancing understanding between partners and is based on the theory of Transactional Analysis developed by Eric Berne in the 1950s.

My aim as a therapist is to work with you in a compassionate and empathic way to help you reach your goals and full potential.

I offer face to face therapy from my therapy room in Glenboig, North Lanarkshire. I'm also a certified online and telephone counsellor and use the Zoom platform for online work.

Contact me for an initial 10/15 minute free telephone consultation to see if we would be a good fit to work together.
