About me
How can I help you?
The everyday issues of life can be overwhelming at times. This can result in depression, confusion, loss of self-esteem, anxiety, challenges in relationships, feelings of loneliness and fears about the future. If any of this sounds familiar, I can help you unpick the tangle of thoughts and emotions you are experiencing, support you to understand any underlying issues, and begin to develop tools to navigate a way forward.
What do I offer?
As a qualified Counsellor, I provide a warm and accepting environment for you to explore what is happening for you. You can safely share your thoughts and feelings knowing that I will listen with respect, and without judgment. As you gain a better understanding of your own emotional landscape, you can make changes if you wish – but often there’s freedom just in seeing things from a new perspective.
How I work
Clients say I quickly put them at ease and provide a sense of calm. I help them pinpoint what is most significant in the most complex situations. I am friendly, down to earth and easy to talk to. I will adapt our sessions according to what is most helpful to you as an individual client, integrating a variety of scientifically backed approaches. These include Person-Centred Counselling, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. But regardless of the theoretical approach, the most important thing is for me to listen and understand, as I support you to move towards your goals.
Issues I can help you with include:
- Stress and anxiety
- Depression, sadness and low mood
- Bereavement and loss
- Relationship issues
- Loneliness and isolation
- Self-esteem and identity
- Issues around faith and belief
- Transitions – new relationships, empty nest, retirement etc
- Exploring new beginnings
- Positive aging and the second half of life
Holistic Wellbeing
Since emotional health often impacts physical wellbeing, you may find that our work together alleviates problems such as insomnia, migraines, eating and digestive issues, minor skin complaints or other emotionally driven disorders.
And if spirituality is important to you, I offer a safe and respectful space to explore the connections between faith and emotional well-being. Whatever your faith tradition, I honour your beliefs without imposing my own. We can work together to draw on your unique values and strengths as a resource for healing and growth.
Through my holistic approach, most people find they begin to move towards a healthier, more harmonious and satisfying life.
Training, qualifications & experience
Professional Status
I am a fully qualified and insured member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I am trained in a variety of theoretical approaches including Person Centred therapy, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy so can tailor my approach to meet your specific needs.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
