About me

I am an experienced Clinical Mental Health Counsellor providing sessions in English and Spanish.

My background includes several stints living abroad, a deep understanding of hispanic and Spanish-speaking cultures and a previous career working in high-pressured corporate environments. I work with people experiencing grief and loss (extending to disenfranchised, ambiguous and anticipatory losses), trauma and PTSD, phobias, anxiety, relationship issues, emotional regulation concerns, parenting support, identity issues, cultural adaptation, self-esteem, negative behaviours, substance use, anger management, work-related concerns, stress management, burnout and more.

In addition, I work with individuals looking for support adjusting to life’s changes and transitions such as moving into adulthood, entering parenthood, divorce, empty nest, retirement, career changes, becoming a carer, coping with diagnoses etc.

I practice from a strength-based perspective and my goal is to help you gain insight that promotes healing and helps you to become unstuck so that you can forge a path ahead. Together, we cultivate a sense of agency and empowerment to create the changes you wish to see in your life. Founded on the principles of choice, responsibility and authenticity, I use a combination of insight-driven talking therapy and a range of practical techniques to build resilience, set goals and track your progress. Clients range from pre-teens to young adults, older adults and seniors.

If you would like to learn more about how counselling therapy can provide understanding, promote healing, build strength and put you back in the driving seat of your life, I’d love to chat. The best way to contact me is by email as I might otherwise be in session and unable to take your call.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling.

I tailor my approach to each individual's unique circumstances and practice from a relational, psychodynamic, narrative and existential basis. Through insight-driven talking therapy, we process past traumas, notice recurring patterns, explore significant relationships and address issues of grief and loss. Insight gained in therapy kickstarts the healing process allowing us to rebuild those aspects of our lives and selves that feel stuck. Together, we build resilience, learn coping skills and take control to bring about the changes you want to see in your life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
