About me

Hello! My name is Anna.

Welcome to my profile!

Wherever you are at the moment, well done for taking that first step to get some help! It takes courage to reach out for support, especially at times when life is challenging.

Are you struggling with low mood or anxiety? Maybe you are feeling overwhelmed and confused, or have experienced a life changing event - maybe a significant loss, breakdown of relationship, pregnancy and becoming a parent, burn out or change of career? Maybe you are grieving or struggling to make sense of your "new life"?

If you are ready, I may be able to help you. As a counsellor I can support you to explore and process what is going on for you.

I am a warm, compassionate person. I will not judge you or make assumptions about you. I will allow you to take me where it feels right for you.

As a counsellor I work in an integrative way, which means I draw on various therapeutic approaches. This helps me to tailor the way we work together to help meet your individual needs. You and you needs will always be at the heart of our work together. I want to empower you and help you find the confidence in yourself and your abilities and live a happy, fulfilling life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor, registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as well as the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO).

Within my counselling role I have experience working with anxiety and worry, depression, change, cancer/chronic illness, loss (including baby loss), grief, bereavement, trauma, low self-esteem, low-confidence, relationship difficulties, anger and burnout.

With a background in midwifery and perinatal mental health, I also have an excellent understanding of the birthing journey and the impact this can have on our mental health. Whether you are a mum or a dad I can offer you my support with any pregnancy related issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
