About me

Welcome.

I am a person-centred counsellor and focusing-oriented therapist based in North West London, offering warm and non-judgemental counselling to adults. I'm passionate about how counselling can help people feel more connected to themselves and others, and empower them to find their own answers.

Whether you want to work through old feelings or an issue you are dealing with right now,  I can offer a calm space to talk through your thoughts and feelings.

What I offer

The person-centred approach is based on the belief that everyone has the ability to grow and change, and that you, the client, are your own best expert. I believe that by offering understanding, non-judgemental acceptance, and compassion you get the time and space you need to more fully understand, trust, and accept yourself. This means that rather than tell you what to do or offer you advice, together we can explore your thoughts and feelings so that any changes come from within you. I work at a pace that suits you, and I offer a space to safely contain what you bring. I know from my own experience how transformative it can be to feel truly seen and heard.

I also offer Focusing-oriented therapy, bringing attention to the 'felt sense' within our bodies and our moment-by-moment experiencing of the world.

Throughout my working life my focus has been on compassion, collaboration, and the importance of listening to, and understanding, each other. I welcome and value diversity – of background, sexuality, gender, ways of thinking, being, and living - and I specialise in autism and neurodiversity.

Sessions

Sessions last 50 minutes, and are generally held on at the same time each day. I can be flexible if needed. I offer short-term counselling (10-12 sessions) or longer-term open-ended therapy.  I offer online, walk and talk, and in-person sessions.

What to expect at the beginning

I offer a free initial phone call, and then an one-off session online at a reduced rate of £40, (£20 unwaged/student), as a chance for us to meet. I might ask you some questions to out a little more about you, and you can find out more about how I work and whether you would like to continue with me.

Contacting me

If you are interested in finding out more about working with me, please check out my website. You can phone or email to let me know when is a good time to ring you back. I aim to respond within one working day. All messages you leave are confidential. If you wish to give me a brief idea of why you are interested in counselling you can, but only leave as much information as you are comfortable with - your name and contact details are enough at this stage.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
