About me

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting. Perhaps you are feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed or exhausted, or struggling with relationships, family life, work or your confidence. Sometimes there is a clear reason for how we feel, and sometimes there isn't. You may know that you are not feeling like yourself.

You don't need to have everything worked out before coming to counselling, and you don't need to know exactly what you want to talk about. We can start wherever you are.

I am a warm, compassionate and approachable psychodynamic counsellor, offering a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for adults and young people. I believe that being listened to and genuinely understood can make an important difference when life feels difficult.

My approach gives you time and space to explore what is happening for you, without judgement or pressure. We can look at your current experiences, as well as whether past experiences and relationships may be influencing how you feel, think and relate to others today.

I offer both short-term and open-ended counselling, depending on your individual needs. Sessions are weekly and last 50 minutes.

I provide face-to-face counselling in Banstead and online counselling across the UK. I also provide counselling sessions through my work with a Christian organisation called Fountain Therapy Trust in New Malden.

I work with a range of issues, including anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, relationship and family difficulties, stress, life changes, grief and difficult or traumatic experiences.

I also offer counselling in Polish.

In person in Banstead, conveniently accessible from Tadworth, Epsom, Ewell, Reigate, Redhill and Sutton.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an experienced psychodynamic counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work in accordance with the BACP ethical framework and have regular clinical supervision.

I graduated from the Open University and continue to develop my knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development and training.

Alongside my counselling practice, I have gained experience working with people of different ages and backgrounds.

I have also volunteered as a counsellor with The Matthew Hackney Foundation, providing one-to-one counselling to students at a local secondary school in the Banstead area. This experience has given me valuable insight into the emotional and personal difficulties that young people can experience and the importance of providing them with a safe space where they can feel listened to and understood.

My counselling experience includes supporting people with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life changes, emotional distress and the effects of difficult experiences.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Being born and raised in Poland, I can understand that moving to another country is not simply about changing your surroundings. It can mean leaving behind familiar people, traditions, language, values, and ways of understanding the world. For someone who has experienced financial hardship, poverty, abuse, racism or the lasting effect of growing up in difficult historical and social environment, these experiences can continue to influence how they see themselves, relationships and their sense of safety.

I also recognise that being in a relationship with someone from a different cultural background can sometimes create additional challenges. You may love and care about each other, while still having very different beliefs, values and expectations because of the environments you grew up in. What feels normal, respectful or important to one person may feel completely different to the other.

Further information

My work is integrative with a foundation of psychodynamic knowledge. I believe that our experiences, particularly within important relationships, can have a lasting influence on how we see ourselves and respond to the world around us.

Sometimes we can find ourselves repeating patterns, reacting in ways we don't fully understand, or carrying feelings that have been difficult to express. Counselling can provide an opportunity to gently explore these experiences and develop a greater understanding of ourselves.

I don't believe that counselling is about telling you what you should do or providing quick solutions. My role is to listen carefully, try to understand your experience from your perspective, and support you as you explore what is happening for you.

I understand that everyone is different, and I aim to work with you as an individual rather than making assumptions about your experiences.
