About me

It was my own experience of counselling as a young student that made me see the true value of speaking openly and honestly with a professional. The counselling relationship really is like no other. I didn't have to worry about her feelings, whether she would judge me or whether she would tell someone else. True freedom. It was an incredible experience, and it is the reason I'm a counsellor today.

If there are things you find hard to talk about, maybe even hard to think about, together we can create a warm, honest and trusting relationship in which you may feel able to open up and explore the things you find difficult. You may simply be curious to understand yourself better, you may be feeling stuck, you may be suffering from anxiety, or you may have niggling worries that just won’t go away no matter how hard you try to ignore them. I understand, and I can help you to feel safe enough to explore those things in therapy.

As an integrative counsellor, I don’t use one blanket approach with all clients and all problems, but instead tailor-make my approach to you and what you’re bringing. I think counselling should be a collaboration between therapist and client, the counsellor is there to help you explore everything that needs exploring in a safe, calm and open space.

If you have any questions at all, or would like to set up a free brief phone call, just hit 'message me', or head to my website.

I offer Zoom, phone and in-person sessions. Assessments are only on Zoom or on the phone.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
