About me

I take a hands-on, evidence-based approach to provide tailored support and develop effective strategies to enhance mental well-being. I don't believe in passive therapy; rather, I actively engage with individuals as they navigate their quest for meaning, direction, and assistance in their lives.

I specialise in working with adults and am dedicated to serving diverse populations. With a wealth of experience supporting LGBTQIA+ communities and individuals from various backgrounds, I bring a deep understanding of different walks of life.

While I work integratively the main modalities I draw upon are: Person Centered, CBT, Relational Pscyhodynamic and Existential. I recognise the importance of an individualised approach, understanding that each person's journey is unique. I focus on collaborating with you to tailor our sessions to meet your needs and goals. Drawing from a pluralistic perspective, I am dedicated to finding the most effective solution that resonates with you.

If you have specific preferences regarding how you'd like to approach therapy, or if there's a particular therapeutic method you're curious about or would like to explore further, please feel free to share your thoughts. I'm here to listen and discuss any ideas you have regarding our therapeutic journey together.

Although I have experience addressing various presenting concerns, my particular focus and expertise lie in supporting individuals dealing with issues surrounding depression and anxiety, trauma, sexuality and gender, bereavement, trauma, burnout, HIV and long-term health conditions.

I have worked clinically within the NHS and the third sector, where I've worked with individuals facing diverse challenges. My areas of speciality include trauma, anxiety, depression, burnout, health anxiety, substance misuse and supporting those living with long-term health conditions, including HIV.

I submitted my doctoral thesis in January 2024 and am currently going through the award process to become a Doctor of Counselling Psychology (RUL) and practice as a BACP accredited Psychotherapist (MBACP).

Having experienced both sides of the therapeutic process, I deeply empathise with the challenges of reaching out for support and the transformative journey that therapy entails.

Navigating the journey towards therapy can often feel overwhelming. If you are hesitant or uncertain about taking that step, remember you're not alone. If you feel more comfortable with me initiating contact, either through a casual conversation online or over the phone, before committing to therapy, please provide me with your details

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
