About me

I am a gay man who has particular experience in working with LGBT+ clients, both individuals and those in relationships.

You may be coming to therapy with a specific challenge – work, your relationships, your identity – or because something in your life just doesn’t feel right.

We will look at patterns of behaviour which are causing problems and see how past experiences impact you today.

I aim to offer a safe and non-judgmental space to work with you to make sense of your life.

Therapy is a partnership – we will work together to make meaning of what’s going on for you and help bring about changes in your life.
I have experience of working with a range of issues including:-

-       Anxiety and stress
-       Depression and low mood
-       Relationship issues
-       LGBT+ and wider issues of difference
-       Problems at work
-       Trauma and loss

I am trained in Transactional Analysis, a flexible form of therapy which helps explore our different ways of thinking, feeling and behaving.

I work relationally, which means we will use our relationship to better understand how you relate to yourself and others.

There’s lots of evidence which shows the quality of the relationship between therapist and client is a major factor in successful therapy so it’s important we are a good fit.

I recognise we are all different – such as our race, gender, sexuality or age - and take that into account in how I work.

I work with individuals and couples.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor. I trained at the Metanoia Institute and TA East London Institute, and have a Diploma in Counselling with Social Responsibility from the latter.

I am an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and abide by their codes of conduct.

I am also a member of the UK Association of Transactional Analysis and the International Association of Relational Transactional Analysis.
