Why Choose Me

My training as a counsellor allows me to listen to you in a caring empathic way as one human being to another, recognising you for who you are. I care about your feelings and your experiences and will work along side you to explore your hopes and aspirations.

I counsel in the day time as well as evenings and will quickly find a slot for anyone who needs to see me urgently. Please feel free to ring me if you want to ask any questions, or e-mail me and I will reply within 24 hours.

Why I Became A Counsellor

I started my career in counselling because I wanted to help others. Having been supported in this way myself, I know how wonderfully healing this process can be. Everyone has times in their lives when they face difficulties, become hurt and confused, and struggle to understand thoughts and feelings. Seeking the help of a professional can be the best route to recovering from mental anguish.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in Psychotherapy
  • CRB Police Certificate
  • School Safe Certificate

My psychotherapy skills in counselling include mindfulness, meditation techniques, theory, and self development. I have completed a 2 year distant learning programme, a voluntary counselling placement and produced a research project in anger management.

As well as a private practice where I meet individuals and couples, I also work in the NHS for clients with learning difficulties, on Employee Assistant Projects, and with pupils in  schools.

Member organisations

Our initial session which lasts for 60 minutes allows us to explore how we might work together.

The counselling relationship is the key to successful therapy so this first contact is important.

There is free parking and my counselling room has it's own access door. It is private and secluded.

  • Individuals - £45 per session *
  • Couples - £55 per session *
  • Children aged 14 - 16 - £25 per 30 minute session

* I also offer concessionary discounted rates with no financial questions asked.

Further information

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and use their framework for good practice to guide my work.

As part of this good practice, I receive supervision on a monthly basis with an experienced psychotherapist and practitioner.

As part of my own professional development to keep up-to-date with current trends I attend courses, read books/monthly magazines, and keep in contact with fellow professionals.
