About me

We each face difficult and distressing times in our life; it can be hard to know which way to turn in order to reach support.

I can provide a safe and peaceful place in which you will be welcome to discuss your thoughts and feelings with somebody that is empathic, won't judge you and will keep everything that you say confidential.

As an integrative therapist I am able to use several schools of thought in order to adapt to your needs - My aim is to work with you, get to know you & reach an understanding of your struggle.

Together we’ll explore and develop tools & strategies to enable you to cope better, improve your day to day life, happiness and well being.

My team of therapy animals; dogs & horses are very pleasant to be amongst and will really help you to feel more relaxed and comfortable.

There are no check lists as to what is suitable to bring - You may have been involved in an accident, be struggling to come to terms with a bereavement, be experiencing difficulties in your workplace, current or historic abuse, lacking in confidence, be feeling sad, struggling with parenting, anxiety, navigating perimenopause/ menopause, have health difficulties ,family issues,  low self-esteem, depression, panic attacks, a current difficulty, loss or change.

Equally you may be  unsure as to what is causing you to feel a sense of unease, unhappiness and dissatisfaction with life.

Anything that is troubling you, no matter how big or small an issue is welcome and worthwhile to bring to counselling sessions.

*Things may have been a certain way for a long time but that doesn't mean they have to stay this way.*

I offer long and short term counselling to individuals aged 16 plus in a variety of settings.

* Traditional sit down - face to face

* Walk & talk therapy

* Animal assisted therapy

* Equine facilitated therapy

* Online

* Telephone

I am located in Escrick offering peaceful surroundings encompassing the grounding & healing benefits of the outdoors, nature, dogs & horses.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
