I am an HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist and have been an independent consultant Chartered psychologist since 2003. I specialise in helping individuals regain their lives after being impacted upon by stress, anxiety, depression, injury or trauma. I enjoy working using a collaborative approach in a safe, calm environment with adults, young adults and also older teenagers. I use an integrative style drawing upon my training in Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Rational-Emotive Behaviour therapy (REBT), EMDR and Mindfulness within a Humanistic framework using what is most appropriate after consultation with yourself. I offer short to medium-term work.
I am also a registered Occupational Psychologist and Coaching Psychologist and possess 20 years of business experience in a variety of sectors which means that I have worked with organisations and employees, understand the impact work can have upon mental health and provide counselling for this.
I have worked in the NHS services with Adults and young Adults (severe and enduring mental health) e.g. depression, anxiety, self-harm, ocd, trauma, eating disorders etc. providing medium to long-term therapy. I also have experience in CAMHS providing individual therapy for teenagers/young adults e.g. depression, anxiety, self-harm.
Types of issues I deal with include but are not limited to: depression, anxiety, stress, trauma/abuse, Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anger, self-harm, road-traffic or industrial accidents, physical injuries or health-related issues, bullying and performance issues at work or in sport, lack of confidence/low self-esteem. I also provide counselling to other therapists. As I am also a qualified Business and Executive coach I also provide coaching for work-related issues e.g. performance, change of career/life direction. I also conduct medico-legal work.
Referrals: AXA PPP; BUPA; WPA recognised psychologist. Individuals may self-refer. I also take referrals from GPs, psychiatrists and agencies.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Chartered Psychologist; Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Counselling and Occupational Psychologist and Coaching Psychologist. I am also an Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist and have qualifications in Rational-Emotive Behaviour therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness; Business and Executive coaching and training in Cognitive-Behaviour therapy.
I have been an independent consultant chartered psychologist since 2003. I have trained in a variety of NHS hospitals in mental health (Adult and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and provide therapy for a variety of mental health issues e.g. PTSD, depression, anxiety etc. I have over 20 years business experience in public and private sectors.
I also offer business, leadership and career coaching. I am fully trained in psychometrics and use this within my coaching practice.

The first session is an assessment session which is 1 hr in length - £80.

Rates for BUPA - £90/hr; AXA PPP & WPA - £100 per hr
Rates for Agencies and Medico-legal work are higher as they involve more preparation.
I work within the Health and Care Profession Council (HCPC) and British Psychological Society (BPS) ethical guidelines. I have monthly supervision for both Counselling Psychology and EMDR and keep up to date by attending conferences and training.
