Hi, my name is Kerry. You may feel anxious or nervous about making the first step in going to see a counsellor. However taking that step you will be able to start to make sense of the feelings you have.
I feel that with the correct counsellor you can build a good working relationship and be able to find that light at the end of the tunnel.
Why not come for an initial appointment and see how you feel? You can ask questions, talk about what you hope to gain from counselling and then decide if it is the right time for you and if I am the right person.
I offer friendly, safe, confidential counselling service in which to talk about you and your feelings in a relaxed environment. I will support you through your difficulties to help you achieve clarity and help you take those steps to move forward with your life. One of my specialist areas of counselling is child bereavement but most of my clients see me for a whole host of different problems from depression to work related issues.
Often issues affect partners so I am happy to counsel couples as this may resolve issues much quicker. I have also helped people suffering with anxiety, relationship problems, childhood related issues, bereavement, child bereavement, self harm, anger management difficulties, alcohol and drug related issues, addiction and stress.
My private practice is based in Thorpe-on-the Hill (just off the A46 Lincoln Bypass) approx 5 miles outside Lincoln. I also have an office near to the prison in Lincoln both venues have free parking and disabled access. Please see the maps for the locations.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within its ethical framework.
What is Counselling?
Counselling is about helping people who want to change some aspects of their thoughts, feelings or behaviour to improve their life, or simply to explore and clarify their thoughts or feelings.
It’s about talking to a properly qualified counsellor who has regular professional supervision.
Sessions usually last for 50 mins and at our first meeting you can decide if you would like to continue to work together. We will discuss the number of sessions we believe will be appropriate to help you, and we will regularly review how you are feeling (this is typically around 6 sessions but maybe less or more). You of course are free to end counselling at any time you wish.
If you feel that you would like to arrange a session or require any further information please give me a ring or send me an e-mail. My aim is to see a client within 48 hours of their initial enquiry.
