About me

Therapy -  A voyage of self discovery  with the  aim of liberating and empowering  your present self, enabling the person you would like to be.

Accessible therapy for you. Finding a therapist that you can feel comfortable with may seem like a daunting process, therefore  it is important that you choose someone that you can connect with,  build up trust  and who will work with you to support your mental health and well being.

I am a qualified psychodynamic and integrative therapist with over 12 years experience working with clients, both within a diverse and multi-cultural agency and as a private practitioner. As a therapist I am able to provide a confidential, non-judgemental and safe environment in which we can explore any anxieties, concerns or difficulties that you may be experiencing at present. I can offer a secure and welcoming space to help you make sense of your thoughts, emotions and experiences from your  perspective and understanding.

We will work together to identify and  understand  negative cycles of behaviour that may be holding you back. Therapeutically we will work to help you build  up your confidence and support you to make the choices you need to live the life you want.

We will work using a psychodynamic model, which means that we will explore the roots of your childhood and learned ways of relating to help you to gain an understanding of your present concerns or difficulties. However I am aware of the importance of building up the relationship between the client and therapist and how working 'relationally' can enhance the experience of our work together.

My experience as a therapist aims to  support clients age 18 and above who may be experiencing difficulties  such as anxiety, depression, stress  and other psychologically related conditions.  As part of a recent degree program I have developed a deep interest in  clients presenting with environmental concerns  eco- anxities or by traumas triggered by media reporting especially relating to ecological issues. I would like to welcome  older clients who are often under represented. I have experience of working with clients who are supporting family members with conditions such as Alzheimers/Dementia or long term health conditions  or  have now taken on the role as a carer.

However I extend a warm welcome to clients wishing to explore their concerns at a deeper level, building up trust and confidence and helping to restore well being so that you can live your  life  your way.

I  offer a short term modal of working 12 - 36 weeks or long term, open ended therapy.  I offer in person therapy, zoom calls or telephone consultations .We will work together to decide what will work best for you.

Fees start range between £45 - £65 for 50 minutes sessions.

Initial consultation £50 per hour. Low cost therapy may be available for students or those on reduced income (poa). Therapy is a weekly commitment made by both parties.

My practice is situated in a residential area which is served by local buses and 2 train stations, all within walking distance. Parking is also available if you prefer to drive.

I will look forward to hearing from you soon.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
