Julia Melville BACP Accredited Member UKRCP Registered
I am an experienced counsellor/psychotherapist and accredited with the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and registered with UKRCP (United Kingdom Register of Counsellors/Psychotherapists). I work with adults, young people (11 upwards) and couples. I provide short and long term therapy.
I believe that the most important and valuable aspect of counselling is the therapeutic relationship. I offer an empathic, warm, non-judgemental and confidential space to create a trusting relationship that will provide a safe space in which you can feel accepted as you are and understood. I will help you to understand why you feel the way you do. No one can change the past but looking at a situation in a different light can help you to move forward.
I am an accredited member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy www.bacp.co.uk) and I am committed to their Code of Ethics. I receive regular professional supervision which is an essential part of my work.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at the University of Strathclyde where I gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Person Centred Counselling. I am fully insured and hold an Enhanced Disclosure (Disclosure Scotland).
