About me

Throughout our lives, we are faced with many challenges, experiences and emotions which might lead us to seek counselling. Feelings of confusion, fear, loss, sadness, anger, despair, anxiety, low self-esteem, frustration can sometimes become overwhelming; as can the complexities of family life, work and relationships. I provide counselling services to individuals, couples and have significant experience working therapeutically with children, young people and their families.

I work in comfortable and safe surroundings where clients can relax and focus on their feelings.

I believe that no one Counselling Theory fits for each person, so I work in an Integrative way, carefully using different approaches to suit the individual. The relationship between Counsellor and client is a very important one, based on trust and mutual respect and how we work can be decided upon together.

Sometimes sharing your feelings with someone outside of the situation may feel more comfortable than with someone who is close to you. It is also an opportunity to recognise the strengths you already possess and build upon them. I provide a confidential, non-judgemental time and place to identify troubles, explore them and find ways to cope and move forward. Throughout our lives, we are faced with many challenges. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental setting where individuals, couples and families can have time and space to explore and understand their thoughts and feelings, helping them find a way through Life's Maze.

I am a qualified Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor and Systemic Family/Psychotherapist.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
