About me

Do you find it difficult to cope with particular concerns or situations? Are you seeking direction or meaning in your life? Do you lack confidence in your abilities? If the answer is yes, counselling can help you.

Therapy can provide a safe place to explore issues in a non-judgemental environment that fosters hope and support.

Being able to talk about difficult things can be the beginning of change.

I provide a free 15 minute consultation via the telephone so you can discuss any concerns and expectations surrounding the process.

You are treated as a valued individual and therefore therapy is done at your pace. You can choose to do short term or long term therapy in a safe and professional environment.

Counselling and EFT (emotional freedom techniques) can help you gain a greater understanding about your life enabling you to explore, create choices and find solutions as well as celebrate achievements.

Feel free to contact me via email or telephone or text (please check your Junk folder re emails)

Appointments are normally one full hour (some counsellors only offer 50 minutes).  Longer appointments are also available (scroll down for information regarding session length and fees)

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked with adults in a variety of settings including a bereavement centre, GP surgeries, the NHS, counselling charities as well as private practice.

Issues covered have included anxiety, depression, anger management, abuse (emotional, physical and sexual), work place stress, relationship difficulties, grief, compulsive behaviours, panic disorder to name a few.

There are lots of different types of therapies out there.  I work as an integrative counsellor which means I utilise several different therapeutic approaches in order to tailor them to your individual needs.
I am also an Emotional Freedom Techniques practitioner. It is a fast, simple and effective therapy which can help reduce emotional distress and physical discomfort. Results can be long lasting as you let go of unhelpful thoughts and feelings. You will find that your body also has less stress and tension.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
