Joan Kelly MA MBACP UKRC reg. | |
Counsellor ProfileI offer open-ended and short-term counselling at two locations within a wide range of issues including Couples Counselling, low self-esteem,confidence issues, panic and anxiety attacks, work stress and depression, as well as coaching, mediation and Stress Management Consultancy.
My counselling orientation is Eclecticism. This approach gives both myself and my clients the freedom and the flexibility to work within a wide range of counselling approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. In other words, the client does not have to fit into an already prescribed model. The model is instead individually fitted to the needs of each client. My style is warm, though pragmatic, and feedback from clients would seem to indicate that I am easy to talk to. I believe it is necessary to be able to demonstrate understanding and respect for the client's 'story' before a client can feel sufficiently confident and supported to move forward within the work.
