Profile

I am an experienced Person Centred Rogerian Counsellor , my practice is located in the centre of Leamington Spa. I provide Counselling and Psychotherapy to adults, couples and young people from the age of sixteen within the Coventry and Warwickshire area. Some of the issues I work with include abuse , bereavement , depression , anxiety , stress , relationship difficulties , work related issues and low self esteem .

I am member of the British Asociation for Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their ethical guidlelines for good practice.

Diploma in Person Centred Rogerian Counselling and Psychotherapy, University of Warwick , 2002
Certificate in in Person Centred Couple Counselling, 2009
All Issues Core Training in Family Mediation , 2007
R.S.A Certificate in Counselling in Skills , 1993
In-service training in Social Care, 1992

I have recently completed training in Person Centred Couple Counselling.

I have experience of working in a local Doctors Surgery as Counsellor , at a local University as a Student Counsellor , for Relate as a Children and Young Persons Counsellor and as a Volunteer Counsellor for a Christain counselling service. I have been in in private practice for over seven years.

Having trained as a Family Mediator I am fully aware of the impact of seperation and divorce on each partner and on children , this experience and knowledge now helps inform my practice with individuals and couples..

Fees

The first session is free for individual clients and is charged at £30 for couples , this gives you the opportunity to explore with me whether you feel Counselling could be the right thing for you . Counselling is not something you can enter into lightly and you have the right not to proceed with Counselling if you are unsure .
If you do wish to proceed it will be £45 per session for Individual Counselling and £55 per session for Couple Counselling ,
however I can offer reduced fees for those on low incomes and students.

Further Information

Prior to training to be a Counsellor , I worked for 12 years for Social Services and the NHS with adults with Learning disability and people with Mental Health issues. Recently I worked part time within the Mental Health system as a Mental Health advocate.
