What Drew me to Counselling?
Hello there! I have always been interested in how people learn and grow and I feel privileged to accompany clients on part of their journey. I have been described as practical, reliable, truthful and caring. Counselling can be challenging but also very satisfying, so why not see how we could work together?
What I Offer - HELPING YOU TO BE YOUR TRUE SELF
ANXIOUS AND FEARING the Future? PAIN of the Past? TIRED of waiting for an NHS referral? TRYING to change your life and body? NEED HELP SOON?
Support for :- anxiety issues, feelings of shame, guilt and vulnerability, obsessive love, weight control and body image (including 'bigorexia,' or male muscle dysmorphobia), money and emotions, depression and low self esteem, lack of confidence, phobias, performance enhancement; relationship issues; obsessive love;personal injury claims, pain management, trauma support; work related stress, for individuals, managers and teams; couples issues; anger management; bereavement; adults abused as children; eating disorders; alcohol abuse and other habit difficulties; physical problems such as IBS and discovering what you want from life! I work both in my own practice and for various organisations in the mental health, alcohol/substance abuse and employment fields.
Work related Mediation and Coaching for teams and individuals.
WEIGHT LOSS Are you having problems with your weight? I am now able to off Sheila Granger's Virtual Gastric Band therapy programme. This is a non-invasive therapeutic approach to 'installing' a gastric band so that you no longer wish to eat unhealthily. It is safe and involves NO DIETING! As with the real bariatric operations, there can be a rapid loss of weight initially, then a comfortable weekly loss of 1 to 2 lbs. Unlike an operation, we address the whole person so that your own subconscious can help you adjust to the changes you make, both physically and emotionally.
I offer intensive trauma support sessions lasting up to 3 hours. These can take place either at my practice or in your own home if travel and time is limited. They are most appropriate for support where there has been a recent single traumatic event such as a road traffic accident or injury at work. The work will include Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which are both recognised treatments for trauma by the National Institute for Clinical and Health Excellence (NICE) and used by the NHS. I also offer the Rewind Technique developed by Dr David Muss, which is suitable for individuals, couples and groups (e.g. where there are relationship difficulties caused by trauma, or for employees where there has been an onsite incident). To discuss further, please call: 07950808463 or email: Click Here
I offer both long term and short term counselling, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and MIndfulness-orientated counselling. Sessions last up to an hour, or one and a half hours for EMDR.
What can you Expect?
Expect to have a meeting where the focus is on what you need to discuss and explore. Although it's sometimes hard to believe, the answers to many of our problems are within ourselves; sometimes it just needs a skilled person to help you find the key to that locked door. What I do offer therefore, is a confidential space where you can be listened to and where we can look at possible ways through those problems. I believe people have the answers to their own problems and it is a privilege for me to be invited to work with you!
Where can we Meet?
Therapy can take place either face to face at my practice, in your home or work place, by telephone or by Skype (which means that many clients are at some distance, including abroad, but still have the convenience of meeting for a session.)
When can we Meet?
Times are flexible, and some week ends are possible.

Anxious? Phobic? Depressed? Relationship problems?
Many people are at a cross roads in their lives where confidence and self esteem are low and I offer help with the decisions you might need to make. I can offer counselling, CBT, EMDR and life coaching. GP referral letters and letters to occupational health are also part of the service.
Mental health problems are one of the most common difficulties that people face today. This can affect well being, not only psychologically, but also physically, which can worsen existing physical problems. A well known saying is: 'If you do what you always do, then you get what you always get!' In other words, when you are willing to make changes in your life, then it is likely that you will feel better in yourself through taking control. There's another saying: 'The journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step.' So, make a decision NOW and tap into the support I can offer you!
