Helping find your way through your world I offer 6 week solution focused short term counselling. I offer counselling both in Wymondham Norfolk NR18 and online via Skype, FaceTime, email and phone.
In addition I run one to one 6 week structured empowerment courses for specific areas of life such as empowering greater calm and peace, happiness, potential and managing addictive behaviours empowering well-being (www.empowermentcourses.com).
I am a fully qualified counsellor and professional registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
I work with anxiety, stress, self-esteem, addictive behaviour, loss, illness, change, mood and well-being, assertiveness, potential and confidence.
Technqiues I work with include:
- relaxation, meditation and visualisation
- exercises for positive shifts in thinking and behaviour
- coaching and goal setting
- holistic well-being for body, mind and soul, enhancing happiness, well-being and joy
In addition to private practice working face to face with clients and internationally online, I have worked as a short term counsellor for Dover Counselling Centre, Empathy Counselling Service, and the UK charities Carers Trust and Teens and Todders.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling obtained at the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust in London accredited by the BACP and University of East London.
The Psychosynthesis and Education Trust is a member of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and founding member of the European Federation of Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy (EFPP).
I also hold a Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree in Politics and Sociology from Strathclyde University.
I have worked as a short term counsellor for the Dover Counselling Centre, Empathy Counselling Service, and the UK charities Carers Trust and Teens and Todders.
Over 26 years I have gained combined professional experience in counselling, support and empowerment roles working for charities including Macmillan Cancer Support and Mencap and local voluntary organisations specialising in cancer and mental health.
In addition I have worked in key strategic and organisational roles for national and local government agencies and private business including the National Audit Office and Lambeth Social Services, building and construction, the arts and entertainment.
I have a core understanding of organisational psychology, dynamics and issues common to the modern work place such as stress, time constraint, pressure and the need for well-being at a personal and organisational level.
