Sophie Williams BPC, UKCP, FPC
I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist who works both open-ended and short-term with individuals and couples. I work in private practice in Gerrards Cross, Bucks. I believe that one of the most important factors in counselling is the relationship between the counsellor and client. I offer a warm, non-judgemental, confidential space for you to express and explore your current feelings and situation.
You may be looking for counselling support to help you work through a current situation, crisis, depression/anxiety or relationship breakdown, or you may be looking to address longer term difficulties, such as past experiences or repetitive patterns of behaving or relating to others. My practice is informed by psychodynamic theory which understands that as well as present factors, both our past experiences and unconscious conflicts have an impact on how we think, feel and behave in the present.
If you would like to explore the possibility of counselling or psychotherapy with me, please leave a telephone message or email and I will contact you to arrange an initial consultation. This would last for up to 90 minutes to give us plenty of time to discuss your current situation and to decide whether counselling/psychotherapy is right for you now.
