HIGHLY EXPERIENCED AND SKILLED COUNSELLOR FOR ADULTS, CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE OFFERING ONE TO ONE, COUPLES AND FAMILY COUNSELLING.
I am an experienced and highly skilled Clinical Supervisor, Integrated Counsellor and Psychotherapist with 9 years experience working with adults, children and young people. My counselling background is in social care and educational settings in the private, public and voluntary sector as well as managing a children's bereavement service, funded by children in need, and a crisis intervention project.
I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues that Adults,Children and Young People bring to counselling and the difficulties they face and my mission is to break the silence and stigma attached to mental health and to safeguard all children, young people and vulnerable adults.
As an integrated holistic therapist I use a range of talking therapies and expressive therapy and work holistically with the 'whole' person, rather than just the mind, to ensure that you benefit from maximum healing and long term positive health and wellbeing.
Offering a non- judgmental, empathic, caring and understanding approach, I provide clients with a safe, confidential and nurturing environment in which to explore their struggles and reach a solution to enable them to move forward in a way that is right for them.
I believe in the holistic approach to health and the healing of the mind, body and spirit, so that we are able to develop to our full potential by learning coping strategies for growth and development with the inner resources each of us have. I am extremely passionate about my work and believe that every adult, child and young person has the right to ‘a voice’ and ‘freedom of choice’ and my mission is to not only support people in crisis but in the prevention of suffering, suicide and unnecessary death.
I have researched and studied how certain medications, foods, intolerences, allergies and stressful environments affect our mental health and well being and how having a healthier lifestyle and relationship with food, nutrition and exercise can greatly benefit how our mind and body deals with stressful situations.
With a proven track record and solid evidence, using monitoring and evaluation of my work to measure outcomes, and testimonials and feedback, I can demonstrate that my work with clients has made a significant, long term impact on their mental and physical health.
I understand that deciding to access counselling can be a daunting thought and with that in mind I offer a FREE 20 minute telephone consultation so that you can informally discuss your needs and requirements. If after this you decide to commence with counselling we would arrange an initial assessment to discuss together the best range of therapy interventions and techniques unique to you and your situation. I am a strong believer that to ensure long term sustainable change and positive futures free from suffering each individuals therapy should be designed and tailor made rather than a 'one size fits all' approach as no two people are the same or indeed react the same to any experience
I have worked with adults, children, young people with all levels of mental health difficulties:
Mild, moderate, severe and even in crisis with suicidal intentions/ thoughts
And worked with clients who are suffering from:
Low confidence and self esteem
Work/School/College and University pressure and stress
I am also a specialist counsellor in bereavement by suicide and sudden traumatic death and have 9 years’ experience in working with adults, children and young people affected by these experiences. I have extensive, skills, knowledge and experience in crisis intervention and support and working with Trauma and complex grief. I also founded and set up a charity in November 2012,which specialises in working with people who are bereaved by suicide or sudden death and also those who may be having suicidal thoughts
