Profile
Regain a sense of control and pleasure in life.
I offer an initial assessment to see if you feel counselling is for you.
Anger management, Feeling anxious, bereavement , isolated, unable to cope, unhappy, depressed, having relationship problems, suffering with impulsive behaviour and addictions, or a deep feeling of dissatisfaction with life.
You may be considering couples counselling, suffering bereavement or be thinking about anger management. Counselling can help.
Maybe you fall back on old patterns and ways of thinking. Counselling may reveal that things have changed without you realising.. We may need to update our thoughts and feelings but feel entirely stuck..We may experience unpleasant bodily symptoms.
What can you expect from therapy?
A non judgemental space to explore feelings , emotions and events and that may have contributed to your problems and issues.
Many people simply never have the time to talk through the issues which overwhelm them and in turn never experience being actively listened to in our frequently busy lives. This has an impact by way of relationship issues for many of us.
In addition increasingly we find it difficult to find any space to think - with phones, texts, E mail, IPODS, Blackberrys all creating a background of noise. Modern technology may in fact be making us feel more isolated.
Emotions and feelings get frozen and in a sense "locked in a box" - we dare not open the box and may use all sorts of damaging coping mechanisms. We may resort to addictions, self soothers, alcohol, smoking, relationships may flounder or we simply do not understand what is happening to us, hence we may get angry and frustrated.
To move on we need to understand where we are currently.
Counselling offers no magic wand but it starts a journey , it is not about giving advice, it is about mutual exploration of issues and discovering something about ourselves which we might be avoiding.
Counselling can help this process.
