About me

Hi, I’m Vicky and I’m going to explain about the therapy I provide. To begin I’d like to acknowledge how difficult it can be making that first step to recognising you may need some support. It takes courage to admit you may need a helping hand, or someone to help bear that heavy weight you may be carrying. Something I believe most of us need at some point in our lives.

It can be difficult to turn to those closest to us for fear we may be judged or not truly listened to. So, I offer a safe confidential space for you to be heard, and to explore the issues that may be troubling you, in a non-judgemental way. Somewhere you can lead at your own pace. I believe it’s only you who understands how your pain, anxiety, loss or depression truly feels.

As a professional counsellor I work to the BACP ethical standards and I am committed to working with every client in a respectful way. Whilst recognising that each and every one of us has walked a different path in life.

I aim to empower my clients towards their desired goals. If life feels a little too much for you right now, and you feel stuck and would like to know a little more about me and the therapy I offer, I can provide a free 30-minute introductory session so we can get a feel for one another and how we can work together.

Therapy can open lots of doorways to yourself you never knew were there. It’s not always easy but it is very enriching to life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor in person-centered Modality alongside being trained in EFT and I use CBT skills.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
