About me

Are you or a loved one navigating the complexities of a genetic diagnosis or managing complex medical needs? Are you pregnant, planning a pregnancy after a loss, or struggling with perinatal challenges?

If you're feeling overwhelmed by these unique issues and are unsure if a therapist will truly understand, I want you to know that I am here for you. With specialized experience in perinatal mental health, genetics, and loss, I believe I can offer the support you need.

I provide online therapy designed to help you manage anxiety, cope with stress, navigate grief, and build self-acceptance and confidence. My approach is warm, compassionate, and deeply rooted in understanding the intricate ways your early experiences, relationships, and personal history influence your present challenges.

With a particular interest in genetics, I have extensive experience counselling adults with rare genetic conditions and parents of children with complex medical needs. My background as a genetic counselor in the NHS, where I worked with Huntington’s Disease families through Enroll-HD and Legato-HD, has given me a profound understanding of the unique challenges you may be facing. This experience allows me to provide a level of care that is both empathetic and informed.

I am also deeply committed to supporting clients through all stages of pregnancy, including those who have experienced miscarriage or loss. I understand how difficult it can be to reach out and open up about these sensitive issues, but I’m here to offer a safe, understanding space where you can begin your journey.

As a therapist, I work safely and ethically within the BACP framework, bringing humility, empathy, and expertise to our sessions. My goal is to create a therapeutic environment where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to face your challenges.

Let’s connect and take that first step toward healing together.

Training, qualifications & experience

My journey into therapy began with over 9 years of experience as a genetic counsellor in the NHS, where I worked closely with individuals, couples, and families. This background in genetics and family dynamics enriches my work as a therapist, helping me understand the unique challenges my clients face.

I proudly retrained as a Therapeutic Counsellor at DS Counselling Training in Kent, where I embraced their high standards of professionalism. I further deepened my expertise with training in Attachment-Based Psychotherapy from Optima Health Services. This allows me to explore the links between your early relationships and how they influence your present life, helping you gain a deeper understanding of yourself.

I am passionate about supporting clients on their unique journeys. With over 2 years of experience as a therapist, I have worked with anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement, loss, identity, and self-acceptance. My special interests include perinatal support and genetics and rare diagnoses. I am highly experienced supporting individuals with complex medical needs, genetic conditions, and terminal diagnoses, and I work creatively with neurodiverse clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
