About us

We are a team of experienced clinical psychologists based in Newcastle upon Tyne. We offer therapy for a wide range of mental health difficulties including anxiety, depression, anger management and trauma. We use a number of different therapeutic models, including EMDR, CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

In addition to therapy our clinic also offers assessment and diagnosis of ADHD. Embarking on a diagnostic journey can be challenging and therefore we try to support you through the process. Our high quality assessments aim to be comprehensive and provide meaningful information on how the diagnosis relates to any difficulties you are experiencing whilst also recognising your strengths.

Whether you have been experiencing difficulties with your mental health for many years, or whether you are going through a challenging situation at the present time, we can provide the right type of support to help you reach your goals and move forwards.  We provide face to face appointments in our modern, comfortable therapy room based in Newcastle upon Tyne or we can provide online appointments, which might be more appropriate for people with busy schedules.

We understand that coming to therapy can be daunting and therefore we know the importance of building a good therapeutic relationship, so that you can feel safe talking openly about your problems. We will work with you collaboratively to gain a shared understanding of the factors that may have led to your difficulties and the things that might be maintaining them. As well as the work we do within appointments, we will provide you with skills and techniques that you can use in your own time to help you make the changes you want to make, and work towards achieving your goals.

Training, qualifications & experience

All of our psychologists have doctoral level qualifications in clinical or counselling psychology and are registered with the HCPC, who regulate the profession.

Within the team, we have a range of different areas of interest and each psychologist has additional training either in working with particular conditions, or using particular models of therapy. For example, many of our psychologists have additional training in EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) or Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
