Tracy Wilford Registered MBACP, Diploma Therapeutic Counselling
Hello, my name is Tracy. I am in my 50's; married with a son and daughter. I live in Worcestershire with our 3 cats. I like walking, travelling and meeting up with friends over a coffee. I have been trying to be a runner for a number of years and successfully ran my first 10k in September 2018.
I recently retired from the Civil Service after a career spanning more than 30 years. I first became interested in Counselling when I worked as an Office Manager within the Welfare Service team at my workplace. Some years later I decided to undertake a 10-week Listening Skills course which I thoroughly enjoyed. This led me to sign up for further training and after studying for several years I qualified as a Counsellor in 2015. I have been volunteering at a Gloucester-based Counselling Agency for 6 years; two years as a Receptionist, four years as a Counsellor.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I work within the guidelines of the BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I have considerable experience of working one-to-one with clients presenting with a range of issues, e.g. stress, depression, anxiety, bereavement, grief, loss, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, loneliness, and physical illness.
I am trained in Person-Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies and will integrate these theoretical approaches to deliver a service tailored to meet my clients’ needs. I regularly review my practice during monthly supervision sessions which supports my own individual growth and keeps my clients’ interests at the heart of my practice.
