About me

Hi I'm Sue,

I am an Integrative counsellor, and a qualified trauma therapist who works with the three phase trauma model and flash technique. I am also an advanced emotional freedom technique practitioner (EFT-tapping therapy), and work with adults who have experience of adoption, and the care system.

Coming from a diverse background, I carry a tool kit of academic and life experience to counselling, beginning many years ago in Psychology and Criminology.

I work with a wide range of concerns (please see below), my aim is to provide you with a safe and trusting space, which is non-judgemental and empathetic.

I offer a range of therapies and techniques rather than a 'one size fits all' approach, tailored to your individual concerns.

Sometimes it is important to focus on ourselves for a while, this does not mean me first, it means me too.

I work with adults, in a safe trusting space to explore you and your concerns, and support you to/with

  • Improve wellbeing.
  • Mindfulness.
  • Make changes in your life.
  • Identify root causes

  • Self-confidence.
  • Self-esteem.
  • Self-acceptance.
  • To have a voice.

  • Adults who have experience of adoption, care system - growing up in children's homes.

  • Shame - guilt.
  • Peri-menopause - Post menopause.
  • Self sabotage.
  • Imposter syndrome.
  • Feel supported during a challenging time.
  • Anxiety - reduce symptoms.
  • Suicidal thoughts and feelings.
  • Stress or Depression.
  • Divorce or separation, to support you work through your emotions and feelings.
  • Decision making difficulties, exploring options.
  • If you have experienced trauma, it is important to seek support from a trauma therapist, to build trust, rapport and feel you are in a safe environment to develop healthy coping strategies that meet your unique needs.

  • I work with the three phase trauma model, and flash technique to firstly build safety, trust and stabilization, which is paramount to any trauma therapy we embark on.

  • Trauma therapy is generally a long therapeutic process, and sadly is not a quick fix.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
