About me

I am an experienced and qualified Integrative Counsellor with a background in business management. I work as a therapist and supervisor in South London mainly in Wimbledon and Clapham. I understand the stresses of working to deadlines, managing other people’s expectations and holding responsibility at a high level. Currently accepting referrals for couples, families and individuals. Working with adults and teenagers.

I work with clients who have a variety of presenting issues, mainly I work with:

  • anxiety
  • stress
  • relationship issues
  • sexuality
  • depression
  • trauma

Type of issues I work with are listed in the separate section of this page.

I have worked as a primary counsellor, family therapist, a group facilitator, trainer, line manager and clinical supervisor in various settings particularly within the addiction sector - I ran parenting skills, divorce support and drug and alcohol additions training, education, training and employment training / groups. I worked for a considerable time with C.R.I. (Crime Reduction Initiative) which allowed me to deeply understand drug and alcohol dependency, dual diagnosis, violence, shock, trauma, self-harm and sexual issues. For a number of years I worked with clients who have been involved with the child protection services as well as the criminal justice system. Over the last fourteen years I have also worked with family members of the patients (carers) who often feel isolated and invisible.

My work in NHS in a major South London Hospital (2013-2018) involved working with consultants who specialise in treating patients experiencing hearing loss as well as having balance issues. Their patients were referred to me for short-term or open-ended therapy. I also work in private practice offering individual, couple as well as family therapy in London and Surrey and provide a confidential, non-judgmental, nurturing space for you to explore any issues.

I started my company BASE Counselling and Consultancy Services in 2013 having worked in psychological therapies since 2009.

As an integrative therapist and supervisor I will draw on different aspects of various therapeutic models when working with clients. During your time in therapy with me you can explore relationship issues either present or historic, boundary issues and belief systems that impact your life. I will also support you in developing new coping strategies. I am available for crisis counselling and short notice appointments.

In clinical supervision, we would be looking to cover qualitative, resourcing and developmental elements - our meetings will reflect and review clinical situations with your clients - the aim is supporting you in your professional environment.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
