About me

Hello, are you looking for a welcoming, supportive space to feel heard, understood and valued? Together we will explore what brought to counselling or psychotherapy.

We will use a range of therapeutic approaches to help you to achieve your goals, in a way which feels tailored just for you. My warm, friendly, and competent style will help you to feel at ease, informed, and empowered: helping you to get the most from our time together.

I offer online video, and phone counselling throughout the UK. I also offer face-to-face appointments to clients in the Northwest of England and North Wales.

As an integrative psychotherapist, I focus on your unique experiences and how they affect your wellbeing. We are all a wonderful mix of past, present, and future hopes and fears. We are shaped by the world around us, and the people with whom we live. As your therapist, I will be fully accepting of you within the full context of your life. I will weave together concepts and practical strategies to help your current need.

I support clients with a wide range of issues and goals. I specialise in grief associated with the death of a baby, child, or adult child (of any age or gestation). If you are coming to me as a bereaved parent, I am so sorry for all that you are going through. As a bereaved parent myself, I understand.

There are no right or wrong ways to grieve. As such, it can feel like such a lonely time, even if you are surrounded by people who care. Again, I will make no assumptions about your loss and ‘how you must be feeling.’ Your grief is as unique as the precious child you are remembering, and it will be as treasured as such. I will support you with a breadth of knowledge, understanding, and experience. I have a good record of helping bereaved parents, who are sceptical of bereavement therapy, but who see it as a last resort.

If self-exploration and self-understanding is your goal, then you have also come to the right place. As meaning-making beings, we are inclined to search for connections and make sense of our lives. We often carry outdated ideas, thoughts, reactions, and behaviours that no longer serve us. Together we will explore and deconstruct outdated ways of being, allowing a truer and more fulfilled you to flourish.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, who can work with individuals, couples and groups. I am committed to ongoing personal training and development.

I specialise in the bereavement and grief of individuals who have experienced the death of a much-loved baby, or child. I have had the deep honour of working with hundreds of bereaved parents, grandparents, and other relations, privately, and on behalf of local and national charities. I also write support resources and write and deliver training on these unique types of grief. I continue to stay up to date with baby loss and child bereavement by working collaboratively with leading national and international bereavement organisations; to share best practice for the families we support.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
