About me

I understand that deciding to begin your counselling journey can be a difficult step.

Are you having personal problems that leave you feeling hopeless and alone and in need of support in your time of difficulty or crisis?  Are you juggling responsibilities and finding it difficult to make time for yourself?  Are you struggling with relationships and looking for a more effective way to communicate your feelings?  Are you dealing with memories and experiences that seem to be holding you back, but you feel now is the time to address them?  Counselling can help you to navigate the issues that you are currently facing and provide you with the opportunity to discover ways to make changes that are meaningful in your life.

I offer a safe and confidential place for clients to explore issues of deep concern.  A non-judgemental space where we can work together at a pace that is comfortable for you to share your thoughts and feelings which may be causing you concern.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means that I work under BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice.  www.bacp.co.uk

The therapy that is undertaken may be long or short-term depending on what you need.

The type of counselling offered is the Person-Centred approach.

I have experience in counselling clients with various issues, including but not limited to:

  • Work related issues
  • Relationship problems
  • Health concerns
  • Anger issues
  • Abuse
  • Low self-esteem
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Depression
  • Stress
  • Low self-esteem
  • Bullying
  • Bereavement

I have also counselled people who simply feel stuck and unable to move forward in life.  All these issues are important.

I have worked with a wide range of clients including young adults and older adults.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
