About me

I am a qualified psychotherapist with over 8 years experience as a therapist.  I have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and am a member of BACP

I work primarily in-person in Ascott under Wychwood and North Oxford, and also see some clients online.  I offer walking therapy as well. I offer short and long-term counselling.

How I can help

Are you struggling at the moment and feel you need someone to talk to? Do you feel stuck and not sure how to move on? Do you find it hard to express yourself and what you want and worry too much what people think? Are you feeling anxious?

I work with people just like you.

In my experience successful therapy starts with the relationship between the therapist and client and you need to feel comfortable. My clients tell me they find me kind, understanding, and non-judgmental.

I am based in Oxford and the Cotswolds and work with all ages. I offer walking therapy, face to face, and online counselling. It is whichever would suit you

I am open to hearing about your experiences, your relationships and how you view yourself and the world around you. This will be at your pace and you can share as much or as little as you wish. I will help you to make sense of your feelings and thoughts and together we can consider new perspectives to help you find a way forward.

What to expect?

You are welcome to email me for an exploratory conversation about what you'd like to gain from coming to therapy and decide whether you feel comfortable talking to me. There will be no charge for this.

If we decide that working together could be helpful for you then we will fix a time for our first session. Sessions will take place on the same day, at the same time each week.

Training, qualifications & experience

Qualifications

Post Graduate Counselling Diploma in Transactional Analysis

Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy

Member of BACP;UKCP;UKATA;ITAA

Training and Experience

I am trained to work with a wide range of issues. I have a special interest in working with those suffering from anxiety; depression; relationship issues; childhood trauma; lack of confidence and self esteem.

I work within a Transactional Analysis (TA) framework.  Integral to TA are the beliefs that: 1) People all have the same inherent worth; 2) that people can think for themselves, and therefore, are able to take responsibility for their decisions; and 3) that people can change.

These fundamental beliefs result in a non-judgemental approach, focused around empowering the individual to improve their lives as and how they see fit

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
