About me

I am an Accredited Psychotherapist and Counsellor. I have 20 years of experience supporting people dealing with distressing or confusing situations, feelings or thoughts. I am also qualified in EMDR which is a proven therapy for supprting people facing trauma, stress, anxiety and other mental health issues.

One of my beliefs about going through difficult times, is that with the right support, we can all find better ways to live our lives, resolve our problems, and face our difficult issues. My aim is to provide this type of support in a warm, thoughtful, and hope-filled way.

I can offer short-term support, offering a space for client to unpack or focus on pressing issues, with a view to identifying options and coping strategies.

Or I can work with clients more long term, supporting clients who are facing complicated or distressing issues, with the aim of clients being able to find greater understanding, acceptance, or new more helpful perspectives about themselves or others in their life.

While with EMDR I work in an issue-focussed way. The type of issues are varied, such as anxiety, stress, low mood, sleep problems, low self-esteem,  relationship difficulties, lack of self-confidence, trauma and abuse. This work can be both relatively short (about 10-12 sessions) but also longer term work, depending the individual circumstances of each client.

I work with people who are 16 or over.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

I work from 2 venues, Burghclere which has a counselling room and toilet on the ground floor but the toilet is not wheel chair accessable. And, Kingscere with facilities that are fully wheelchair accessable.
