About me

Life can throw all kinds of events, expected or unexpected, at us. We experience those changes with a full range of emotions and sometimes it’s difficult to understand and acknowledge these feelings. We can choose to ignore them and gradually they start to affect the way we go about our daily lives. Others may notice the changes that we struggle to accept........With the right conditions and support you have the ability to harness your inner energy to regenerate and find new ways to grow and thrive once again. I offer you the space to explore, walking alongside you, supporting you safely on that journey.

I have worked for many years supporting those who are suffering from the emotional pulls of loss and grief, the hopelessness of depression and the turmoil of anxiety. As an Integrative Counselling Psychotherapist, I will hold you at the centre of our work and integrate skills, knowledge and techniques from the counselling world to enable change.

I offer a safe, accepting and compassionate approach for you to start to explore and slowly give meaning to your experiences and feelings. Together we can work at a pace that suits you, we can listen and learn from the events that you have encountered. We can develop ways to start to nourish yourself and repair wounds so you can begin to flourish once more.

Our first session will be a chance for us to uncover some of the thoughts, feelings and actions you wish to bring to our work together, we will explore your experiences and assess whether we would like to work together. It's important for us to make sure that I can support you both professionally and ethically and that you feel safe and comfortable working alongside me. If we agree to move forward together then we will consider the initial focus of our work.

I offer both zoom sessions or in person weekly sessions, 50 minute in length from £65 a session. Our time together is open ended, agreeing on review points together assessing the progress throughout the process, and mutually deciding on how long we need together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
