About me

Does it feel like you've tried everything else and you still feel stuck, disillusioned and low? Sometimes it feels like there is no way out, and you are stuck in yourself, desperate for change that never seems to last, no matter how many books you read, podcasts you follow or new routines you've tried.

That feeling — when your own brain seems like your worst enemy — can be scary and lonely - I've been there myself.

Sometimes, talking to a total stranger who has no preconceived ideas, no expectations, and no personal stake other than helping you find your *own* way forward, can bring a sense of relief and clarity to your current difficulties.

Because finding the right person is the key to useful therapy, I offer a free 30-minute video consultation. There is absolutely no expectation to choose me as your counsellor. In fact, I encourage you to speak to a few therapists — finding someone you feel safe with is an essential part of the process.

My specialised training in children and young people’s counselling means I’m aware of how our early experiences shape our adult patterns, emotional responses, and relationships. This understanding helps us explore how old, familiar patterns might be influencing your life today — and how to gently loosen their hold, even if you're not looking for therapy about your childhood.

I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. My approach is holistic and creative, combining talking therapy with practical tools and visual aids to help bring clarity to what’s going on inside. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or the ups and downs of parenting, we’ll work together to make sense of your experiences.

My aim is to help you develop specific skills and insights so you can feel more in control of your life — not just during our sessions, but long after therapy ends. Change rarely happens overnight, but meaningful shifts begin with small, compassionate steps. I’m here to support you as you take them.

Whether you're new to therapy or looking for a fresh perspective with a different counsellor, I'm here to support you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I work with adults and children & young people.

Many of my adult clients are working through the lasting effects of childhood trauma or growing up in dysfunctional families. Some come to me wanting to understand why they feel stuck. Most want to understand "why they are they way they are" or to build their confidence and self-esteem.

I work with life transitions especially young adults who are going to university, leaving home and finding the move to adulthood overwhelming.

I have a lot of experience working with domestic abuse and its lasting effects.

My work with children and teenagers include those who experience anxiety, low-self esteem, school refusal or have been excluded from school , are labelled "difficult" or "disruptive". Many have diagnoses of Autism and ADHD or other similar neurodivergent presentations.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
