About me

I am a Clinical Psychologist with a warm, down-to-earth and compassionate style of therapy. My practice is relaxed, reflective and sensitive, but with space for connection and creativity. I believe that having a strong therapeutic relationship is crucial to doing good therapy and will work with you to establish safe and trusting bond.

In therapy, I aim to help you understand your current stressors and emotional strains. We will explore some practical steps that can be taken to improve your current feelings or situation and also explore how past experiences contribute to what you're going through right now. Additionally, we won't just focus on what's going wrong, but will spend some time helping you connect with what makes you feel joy and safety in life.

I am experienced in working with a wide range of different experiences including anxiety, low mood, depression, stress, burnout, family strain, shame, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and trauma. I have a particular specialism in identity, gender and sexuality and work affirmatively with relationship diversity.

I have a Doctoral Degree from The University of East London, A BSc from Oxford University and, in addition to my private practice, work as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist within the NHS.

In therapy, I take an integrative approach which means I use various techniques from different kinds of therapy depending on what you might want or need. I am experienced in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Systemic Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Compassion Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I will work closely with you in collaboration to find out what is needed and helpful.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at the University of East London where I earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Prior to that, I earned a BSc at Oxford University.

I currently work both in the NHS and in private practice.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I strive to make my practice inclusive and have specialised expertise working affirmatively with the LGBTQ+ communities. I actively explore intersectionality in my clinical work and want to know how experiences of discrimination, bullying, harassment, rejection, judgement and emotional/psychological violence have effected your wellbeing.
