About me

Welcome.

My name is Roman. I am an experienced and qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor. I trained as a therapist in the second half of life. Before this I worked for many years in the creative industry of technical theatre in the performing arts. My own life experiences have led me on a path of learning. My desire to understand myself and others more fully has brought me into contact with Psychosynthesis; a transpersonal modality which embraces the entire person as mind, body, and spirit, seeking wholeness and so awakening to who we are.

I would describe myself as kind, calm, open minded, practical, reliable and down to earth, with a joyful sense of interest and wonder. I work with people from all backgrounds and walks of life who may be struggling with questions, challenges or who are in a particular period of change.

My Approach

When old ways cease working, we need a distinctly new approach. However, to imagine anything truly new is a big step. The predictability of familiarity, even when it causes us pain can keep us trapped. Issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction and loss of meaning can be messages - a longing for change. Distressing as these are, they require acknowledgement and attention. I believe as a therapeutic practitioner and someone who has experienced such times, that we all have the potential to recognise, engage and grow through the challenges which life presents us.

I find counselling to be a co-creative process that enables a person to gain a greater understanding of themselves.

I offer a confidential and safe space for you to explore what might be holding you back. My role is to journey alongside you offering support and perspective which may not be visible to you alone.

Next Steps

Contact me by email or text and we can arrange a free 20 min online call. This is an opportunity for us to meet and to see if we are well matched to work together. To start to get to know each other and begin to explore what you are struggling with. I look forward to hearing from you. Roman

Training, qualifications & experience

I believe our life’s journey is importantly about becoming an integrated and authentic human being. I have personally benefitted from my counselling training, group work, personal therapy and learning about 'what makes us tick' as human beings.

I have found the wisdom teachings of eastern and western traditions to be a source of genuine guidance and inspiration . As a meditator I have developed an ability to listen with deep focus and so be able to respond from the heart with insight, as well as from the mind with clarity.

My role is to support you to connect to your innate sense of purpose, realise your potential and experience a sense of freedom.

Qualifications

Post Graduate Diploma (3 years) in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy & Counselling from The Psychosynthesis Trust in London (University of Middlesex accredited)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
