About me

I am a qualified and experienced psychotherapist based in London, offering a compassionate, safe, and collaborative space for individuals seeking to better understand themselves and navigate life’s challenges. Drawing on over 13 years of clinical experience within NHS psychiatric services, he has worked extensively with trauma, abuse, neglect, and a wide range of complex mental health difficulties, bringing an informed and grounded perspective to my private practice.

My approach is integrative and rooted in Person-Centred, Relational, and Existential therapies, allowing me to tailor each session to the unique needs of the individual while fostering a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and authenticity.

Holding a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling alongside a BSc in Psychology, and registered with both the BACP and UKCP, Richard works within established ethical frameworks while offering personalised, evidence-informed support.

Through LondiniumPsychotherapy, I provide hour online sessions to clients both across the UK and internationally, helping people work through issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, addiction, OCD, and life transitions.

My work focuses on helping clients make sense of their inner world, reframe unhelpful patterns, develop practical coping strategies, and ultimately build resilience, clarity, and a deeper sense of meaning and emotional well-being.

At the heart of his practice is a commitment to walking alongside clients through difficult or uncertain periods, empowering them to reconnect with their inner strength and move toward lasting psychological growth and a more fulfilling life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Through my experience working within two secure forensic psychiatric hospitals, I have developed a deep understanding of the complex ways in which medication can impact individuals’ thoughts, emotions, and overall functioning.

Alongside this, I have extensive experience supporting clients who have lived through trauma, allowing me to work sensitively and attuned to both psychological and physiological aspects of their experiences.
