About me

Life in the modern world can feel overwhelming at times. Whether you are navigating personal struggles or experiencing difficulties within your relationship, you don’t have to face it alone. I offer a safe, confidential and compassionate space where you, your feelings and your experiences can be truly heard and understood.

For individual adults, I provide a supportive, non-judgemental environment where we can explore what is troubling you, at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we work towards greater clarity, resilience and meaningful, lasting change.

For couples, I offer a calm and balanced space to explore relationship dynamics, communication difficulties, conflict, intimacy concerns, trust issues and life pressures that may be affecting your connection. My role is not to take sides, but to help both partners feel heard, understood and supported in working towards healthier patterns of relating.

As an integrative counsellor I tailor therapy to your individual needs, so whilst I draw mainly from psychodynamic and humanistic approaches, I am also flexible in utilising complementary approaches such as creative arts interventions, CBT, systemic and attachment models, along with elements of somatic, and compassion-focused therapy (CFT) to work with trauma and PTSD. This flexibility allows us to respond to what feels most helpful for you.

I have experience supporting clients with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, relationship and family difficulties, trauma, sexual assault, domestic abuse, life-threatening illness, cancer, life transitions and neurodiversity.

Through compassionate, professional therapy, I will help you gain clarity, build resilience and develop coping strategies that promote lasting emotional well-being. Choosing counselling is an investment in your emotional well-being, and I am committed to supporting you, whether individually or as a couple, towards growth, understanding and healing.

I offer both short term counselling, or long term therapy. Face to face sessions are available at my main practice in Shaftesbury, and telephone or online sessions are offered via Zoom to clients across the UK.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
