About me

Life’s demands can be overwhelming—work pressures, personal responsibilities, and relationships that may lack true connection. When stress builds, it’s natural to seek relief—sometimes through overworking, avoidance, perfectionism, or unhealthy habits—yet these strategies often leave us feeling even more anxious and isolated.

Prior to qualifying as a therapist, I spent 30yrs navigating the pressure-filled financial industry. I bring to my practice a genuine understanding of the censoring and concessions required to achieve in high-performance environments. The work identity involves constant performance measurement feedback. If we take our work identity home, it can affect relationships in our personal life. Not being understood lowers self-esteem, promotes reactionary behaviour, and diminishes the desire to seek out new, fun experiences.

Starting new relationships, nurturing existing ones, can feel daunting when experiencing anxiety or depression. The internal turmoil, things we tell ourselves, can prohibit one from relating authentically. Adaptive behaviours assist in pushing through stressful periods, maintaining a composed exterior, while feeling overwhelmed inside. Engaging genuinely with someone can feel risky because we hold negative, felt experiences from past relationships that ended abruptly. Carrying guilt, anger, or sadness for past relationships can influence how one connects with people, placing conditions on the relationship in order to protect oneself from being hurt. Discussing relationships and interpersonal behaviour is important to improving one’s self-esteem. Together, we can build emotional resilience to trust oneself, rather than worry if you can trust the other person.

As an integrative therapist, I am skilled in different modalities that help to effectively explore the challenges you are facing. Together, we will work to understand the causes of your stress and anxiety, empowering you to move beyond coping and toward clarity, confidence, and direction.

Opening up can be difficult, especially when friends, family, or colleagues offer quick fixes that doesn't resonate. I listen with empathy and curiosity, helping you slow down, process emotions, and gain clarity in a way that makes sense to you. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, ADHD, or identity challenges, I offer a space where your experiences are met with respect and understanding.

Areas of Support:

🔹 Relationships – Navigating family dynamics, intimacy, communication, promoting personal needs vs. people-pleasing.

🔹 Mental Health – Addressing stress, depression, addiction, loneliness, helplessness, and self-destructive behaviours.

🔹 Trauma & Loss – Processing grief, chronic illness, financial difficulties, and significant life changes.

🔹 Well-being & Performance – Managing anxiety, burnout, self-esteem, and work-life balance.

🔹 Identity – Navigating retirement, transitions, imposter syndrome, divorce, sexuality

My Approach

As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach to your unique experiences, drawing from:

Person-Centered Therapy – Building self-trust and self-acceptance.
Gestalt Therapy – Connecting mind and body to access emotions that words alone can’t express.
Existential Therapy – Exploring meaning, purpose, and the importance of living fully.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) – Understanding different aspects of yourself to cultivate inner harmony.
Coaching Strategies – Setting clear goals, building confidence, and creating action plans for sustainable change.

You don’t have to navigate this alone. Let’s work together to help you feel more aligned, confident, and in control of your life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
