About me

Do you find it difficult to maintain relationships of all types? Are you struggling with loss or bereavement? Is getting the right work-life balance proving to be an impossible balancing act? Are you having difficulty with cultural adaptation to a foreign country? Are you experiencing feelings of loneliness, isolation and lack of direction?

If you can identify with any of these feelings, not knowing where to turn to for the help you need can be daunting, and sometimes confiding in family and friends is no longer an option.

Counselling can help. The right kind of counselling will provide you with a safe and trusting environment that can help you to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace without judgment. It can also support you to find the solutions and strategies that suit you, thereby reducing anxiety and stress which would ultimately improve your mental health.

Hello, my name is Patience and I would be honoured to help you. I believe in your ability to thrive when given the right support, and I am committed to walk with you on your counselling journey. I will listen to you without judgement, and support you to use your confidential space and your time as you feel will be most beneficial to you. Together, we can create a relationship which will help promote more positive thoughts and feelings towards yourself and others, and thereby develop more confidence in your relationship with others.

Would you like to work with me in an environment where you will feel respected, valued and heard? If so, please give me a call or drop me an email and let me know what's going on with you, and what you would like to be different in your life. I look forward to meeting you. Take care of yourself.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I offer a free 15 minutes telephone call if you would like, prior to our first meeting. This is an informal conversation for us to ask questions, have a sense of each other and decide if we're a good match to work together.

If we decide to work together, we will think about a possible slot for weekly sessions which will be for 50 mins. In the first session, we’ll explore what has brought you to therapy, and what you want to get from it (your goals).
