About me

I help people overcome relationship breakdowns and historical abuses. To cope and rebuild, so life is authentic, purposeful and enjoyable.

You may be having relationship difficulties and find yourself behaving in ways you want to change. Being triggered by circumstances, suffering from anxiety, depression and losses, or past hurts This can affect your self-esteem and every aspect of life. Or you may be finding it hard to continue coping.
I can assist you to change in ways you want.
So you can live your life.

It takes a lot of energy to keep going when you’re struggling and have internal conflict. But committing to change isn’t easy. It may feel difficult to talk to someone about past sexual or physical abuse, or other things you’d rather forget. But It is courageous to seek help to change if you feel stuck, and I won’t rush you into sharing more than you feel ready to share. We can go at your pace.

I've spent many years learning how to help others improve their lives. Studying theories and methods to help people with their mental health, and working with people who have a wide spectrum of personal issues. I will work to help you make the changes you want. Not just by trying to change the symptoms of the problem, but by addressing the root causes, if that’s what you want to do. So you can be confident, love yourself, feel happy and connected, with hope for the future while enjoying the present.

I began working in Mental Health in my twenties and providing therapy over 30 years ago. People have all types of problems and live through different types of trauma and difficult situations.
It’s okay to talk confidentially. I won’t judge.
But will work to help, provide you with information and strategies, respect, and listen to you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Sample Testimonial from clients who wanted to write something for my website to tell others about their experience

Seeking therapy has been the single best decision I have made for myself and I am so grateful that I clicked on Nina's name when I began my search for a therapist. I felt like I was at a breaking point when I began the sessions and my fear was that I would not be understood or taken seriously. However, as soon as my first session with Nina began, I felt confident that I had chosen the right therapist for me. I could tell instantly that she was understanding and sensitive to my needs; and I felt comfortable in her company. Each week I would look forward to seeing Nina, she always reminded me that I can talk about anything no matter how big or how small and she always listened tentatively. I will never forget her as she helped me through a very tough time and helped me to see things from a different perspective. Since stopping the sessions I have notice that I no longer carry around the emotional baggage that I once did and I put some of that down to Nina's hypnotherapy, where we revisited childhood experiences and traumas.

I couldn't be more happy with my experience with Nina, she is kind, caring by nature and has a contagious smile. I generally felt better after every session and have already recommended her to friends of mine.   C of Leigh-on-Sea

S from Oxford wrote:

I came to Nina via recommendation and am so glad. From a place of constant tears and hopelessness, Nina has helped me to have more confidence in my choices and understanding of my Self. Her warm personality, her understanding and her non judgemental approach just “hit the spot” ...she’s knowledgeable about just about everything. Nina is completely professional and competent which makes you feel like you have finally clicked with someone who can help and who you can open up to.

A recent client wrote this testimonial:

"Having been through several periods in my life suffering with anxiety and depression, i decided to seek counselling for my issues. I found Nina!

My sessions with Nina have at last allowed me to understand myself more, to regain self worth, to see hope in the future and to deal with all aspects of my life in a more positive nature.

Arriving from a dark and lonely place, I am now immersed in happiness and looking forward to each and every tomorrow. Nina is just what I sought in a therapist. She is non-judgemental, a tremendous listener, with a fountain of knowledge across so many areas.

I really cannot recommend her highly enough.

Thank you Nina!"
