About me

Sometimes we all need a little help making sense of our feelings, our thoughts or our lives.

I can facilitate a non-judgemental, sensitive exploration of whatever is on your mind or in your heart.

I offer a tailored therapeutic experience drawing from a variety of approaches and techniques – all offered within an empathic and empowering therapeutic relationship.

In an environment of compassion and understanding, we can work towards a place of real growth and healing, where acceptance and change can be equally welcomed.

About me and my practice:

I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, this means I integrate a variety of different theories and models into our work, personalised to your specific situation/needs and what works best for you. I appreciate every individual is different and there is no "one size fits all" for therapy.

I offer in-person sessions in Sheffield, S10. There is parking on site as well as spaces to lock bicycles.

I encourage all clients to get in touch to arrange a free introductory phone call as a chance to introduce ourselves and for us both to get a sense of whether we feel we would work well together, before you commit to booking your first session.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist (ProfDip, BA Hons, MBACP).

I am also a trained Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist.

Previous clinical experience:

Eating Disorders Practitioner and Counsellor for a specialist eating disorders service.

Integrative Counsellor for a trauma-focused service for survivors of domestic abuse.

Counsellor for a leading mental health charity.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Steps I am taking to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and to protect my clients and colleagues;  my practice rooms have windows for ventilation, the rooms are big enough to allow us to sit 2 metres apart. Hand gel is available.

There are three steps to access the building and the rooms I use are on the first floor (up approximately 10 steps with a handrail on one side and a wall on the other). Lighting levels can be adjusted for sensory comfort if needed (either central overhead lights and/or lamps with dimmer switches).
